Bio:

João is a Portuguese-born young adult with an enthusiastic view of youth work as a tool for the betterment of local communities. He is one of the co-founders of the recently created Portuguese youth organisation YOUth+, created as a (possible) answer to the disconnection between young people and the civil society structures currently in place. He also has a BSc and MSc in Biochemistry and is currently doing a Ph.D. in Physical Activity and Health. His research interests are focused on the use of exercise training and physical activity for the improvement of several pathological situations, and is currently working with cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
