Should young Africans get into the agribusiness?

In a continent that’s not making enough jobs for its growing youth population, the agribusiness is said to be the answer to Africa’s job creation woes. We spoke to industry experts to sift the hype from the truth and find out what specific fields offer a sustainable income in the future.

Africa’s agribusiness industry will be worth $1 trillion by 2030, according to The African Development Bank, and some argue that its untapped agricultural land is ripe with the potential to make the continent the world’s next breadbasket. To achieve such a feat, our experts say, young Africans need to turn to the agribusiness for not just employment but as entrepreneurs and innovators of solutions for the rising global food demand.
